After submitting my Level B follow-up work, when can I expect to hear back from PsyAsia about my status?
PsyAsia's first priority is to mark the work and this usually happens withn 3 days of receipt provided you meet the deadline.  Once we have marked your work, brief feedback comments are given to our administrative staff to input into our system and send to you via email.  This usually happens within 1 week of the submission deadline.  Your BPS Level B Green and White application form along with a PsyAsia certificate will then be mailed to you.  If, on the other hand, further work is required you will be notified asap.  Please do not contact us about your status outside of these timescales in order that we can keep our administrative work low and continue to pass this on to delegates in great value for money course fees! You may wish to view a record of our past marking performance here.  Please note that only Level B requires follow-up work and so the performance noted relates to Level B courses only.Kindly note the above timescales will be adjusted by 1 or 2 weeks where deadlines occur around holiday periods such as Christmas, Easter, Chinese New Year etc. or where you or a number of delegates in one batch submitted their work late.
Are there any examinations for the Psychometric Assessment at Work course?
The Psychometric Assessment at Work Course provides training leading to the fulfillment of requirements for the British Psychological Society Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing at both Level A (ability tests) and Level B (personality assessments). The course assessment is competency-based.  During the course, candidates are given various classroom and homework exercises that are assessed by the tutors.  Passing these exercises to the required standard leads to successful completion of the course.  There is therefore no exam. Our doctoral-level facilitator is highly experienced and will do everything he can to help you through the course provided you too are committed.  PsyAsia offers additional resources outside of the classroom to help you learn.  This includes an online learning center, a delegate forum and live online group meetings.Note - many BPS Level A and B course providers have worked an exam into their training. We find that most of our Asian delegates prefer coursework assessment rather than assessment by exam.  Do check this point if you are considering other providers.More details:
Assuming I pass, what can I do with my new-found knowledge and competence in psychometric testing after the Psychometric Assessment at Work Course
You will have a thorough understanding of the principles of psychometric assessment of personality and ability. You will comprehend the limitations of tests and be able to evaluate any test on the market. You will be able advise your managers or clients on the effective use of tests, create a testing policy for your organisation based on current legislation and be able to choose an appropriate test for a given situation. You will most notably be competent in the administration, scoring, interpretation and feedback of psychometric assessments. Successful completion of Level A will enable you to apply to the British Psychological Society to be added to their Register of Competence in Occupational Testing Level A and to purchase ability and aptitude tests from a large number of UK and international publishers, including (but not limited to) those distributed by PsyAsia International. Similarly, successful completion of Level B will enable you to apply to the British Psychological Society to be added to the Level B Register of Competence and to purchase a large number of measures of personality, interests and values from PsyAsia and elsewhere. You will be able to purchase any aptitude test seen at the PsyAsia website upon successful c
Can I do some days of the Psychometric Assessment Course in Singapore and other days in Hong Kong?
YES!Given that we run regular courses in Singapore and Hong Kong, delegates may choose to join any days of the course in either of these locations.  This gives excellent flexibility if for example you cannot attend all of a course at your nearest centre as a result of work requirements.  There is no additional fee for this option, but you do need to contact us BEFORE booking your place to advise on your preferences.  Also keep in mind that we run the Level A/B course more often in Singapore than Hong Kong.  This option is only applicable where dates for both Singapore and Hong Kong are published at the time of booking as we need you to make a committment to the dates/course that you choose.
Deadlines during and after the Level B course
During the Level B course, we will set deadlines for completion of various sections of the course workbook.  Delegates should aim to have completed the entire workbook by the end of the course. We also set follow-up work where delegates write up personality reports, administer a personality test, prepare feedback notes, run a feedback session and interpret some case study selection and development assessment results.  Delegates are given one month to complete and send this work to us.  The work must reach us by 12 noon on the same day of the month that the course ended, but one month later.  So, if your course end date was 3 October, your work must be at our office by 3 November at 12 noon!Delegates are given a whole month to complete the work so that they can do it without rushing and gain maximum benefit from applying knowledge from the course.  Despite this, a number of delegates in the past have left this work until the last minute.  Please do not do this.  If you do, chances are your work will not be up to the required standard! If your work is not up to the required standard, we will ask you to red
Deadlines during the Level A course
During the Level A course, we will set deadlines for completion of various sections of the course workbook.  Ultimately, the complete workbook must be up to standard and marked before you commence on the Level B course.  Usually, the trainer will expect you to complete and submit the workbook before you leave on Day 3 of the course.  In order to ensure that you can do this, please do not plan any commitments on the evenings of the course (just 2 evenings!).  If you submit your workbook late, you may either not be able to attend Level B or you may be asked to pay a late submission fee of SG$300/HK$1500.Kindly also note that there are various practical assessments during the course, in addition to the intensive training!  Delegates are required to attend all of these sessions if they wish to apply for the BPS certification.  On previous courses, delegates have told us they have scheduled check-ups with opticians, dentists etc. Please DO NOT schedule ANYTHING else during the course day.  If you are away from the course for any period of time, you will not be able to apply for the BPS certificates!
Did PsyAsia receive my Level B Follow-Up Work?
We kindly request that all delegates send their follow-up work by registered local or international courier or deliver by hand to our offices.  If you send by courier, you always have the option to check on their websites that you work has been delivered to us.  It is not our policy to confirm that we have recieved your work - although we will certainly let you know if we have not received it by the due date!  We run this course all over Asia and beyond, both as a public course and as an in-house course and can be dealing with work and enquiries from up to 100 students at any point in time.  You can imagine the time involved in emailing each of them to confirm the minute their Level B work arrives in our office!!
Do I need any particular qualifications in order to register for the Psychometric Assessment at Work Course?
The course is intense, so you will need to be able to attend every day of the course, arrive on time, and be dedicated to completing the homework on time. That will be particularly hard work if you have not been involved in training courses for some time. In terms of educational qualifications we ask that you hopefully have some basic undertstanding of mathematical concepts (we provide a review of such concepts in the pre-course material) and that you have at least an average level of academic ability and speak and understand English well. Most of our delegates are involved in Human Resources or Consultancy, so generally, the above is not an issue. If you are concerned about this, please contact us for more information.
Do I need to bring a laptop for the Psychometric Assessment at Work Course?
In order to qualify for the Level A/B certificates, delegates complete a workbook (along with practical assessments) for each Level.  Both workbooks are rather lengthy and do require a fair amount of writing from the delegate to demonstrate their competence.  The standard required of responses to workbook questions has been set by the British Psychological Society.  PsyAsia will accept your workbook submission either in pen or printed form.  If you do not like writing it is perhaps a good idea for you to have access to a laptop during the course.  You do not need to bring it with you each day, but will benefit from being able to use one in the evening.  Please note that should you decide to use a laptop (most people still opt for handwritten workbook responses!) you will need to print out your response and place it in the workbook at the relevant page.  When pasted in the workbook, the response must either not obscure the question itself - or, you will need to type out the question in full as well as your response. The immense benefit of the workbook assessment technique is that you don't need to complete an exam.  You are assessed as you go along rather than on what you can cram and remember at the end of the course!
Does PsyAsia offer training or certification for the 16PF?
Level B of our Psychometric Assessment at Work course focuses on the Identity Questionnaire. Delegates will also have exposure to a range of other personality assessments, including the Saville Consulting Wave, the OPQ, the MBTI and the 16PF.  After attending our course, you should be able to purchase the 16PF from IPAT in the USA, whilst the UK distributor will most likely ask you to do a one day conversion course. We suggest you contact them to double check. Advise them that you will hold the British Psychological Society Level A & B Certificates. However, as with most delegates, you'll probably see during the course just how good the properties of the other tests we offer are and you will be qualified to order most of those from us. Successful delegates can apply for the British Psychological Society Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing and can go on the BPS Register of Competence in Occupational Testing. This means you would be qualified to order both ability and personality tests from a large number of test publishers and not just ourselves.16PF is a registered trademark of The Institute for Personality and Ability Testing, Inc.MBTI is a registered trademark of Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Trust.Saville Consulting Wave is a registered trademark of Saville Consulting Group.OPQ is a registered t
Does PsyAsia's combined Psychometric Assessment at Work Course really only require a total of 6 days out of the office?
Yes! PsyAsia's Intensive course allows for delegates to complete the training workshop in a minimal amount of time. Our BPS Level A/B combined certification course takes 6 days (plus a portfolio of three exercises after the course). Compare this to alternative courses available where you may need to anticipate being away from work for between 9 and 11 days. Increases in training days also results in increases in course costs. Thus not only do you save time with our course, but also money! Please note however that the course is intensive and does include a little compulsory pre-course work and evening work.  However, unlike other courses there are no exams and we offer flexible learning, so you can choose to attend all of the course now or attend one or a few days at a time to suit you!  In addition, some parts of the course can be completed via LIVE ONLINE TRAINING or recorded online learning.  Please contact us for more information.
Does the PsyAsia Level A/B Training prepare delegates for the BPS Qualification/Exam?
Does the PsyAsia Level A/B Training prepare delegates for the BPS Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing (exam/certificates)?Our Psychometric Assessment at Work course qualifies successful delegates to apply to the BPS for their Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing. During the course you need to complete the workbooks and practical assessments to the required standards. For Level B you need to complete the follow-up work within one month of the course and mail it back to us. Within a few weeks of us receiving your good standard Level B work, we will send you a form which you need to send to the BPS to apply for the certificates. No further training or exams are required.
Fee for the Psychometric Assessment at Work Course
PsyAsia's fee for the BPS Level A & B Certificate Training offers excellent value for money! This course is actually around 20% cheaper in Asia than the same course in the UK, however:1. PsyAsia needs to pay the test publisher in the UK for the use of tests and materials.2. We use materials which are shipped from the UK and thus there is a courier fee to pay for this.3. Our psychologists must mark and grade all delegate work very thoroughly.4. The marking from the follow-up work alone typically takes two days of our psychologist's time (and maybe more if the work is not up to standard)!  This is in addition to 6 full course days of our psychologist's time during the course.5. The course is taught by an award-winning, published, Doctor of Psychology who specialised in Psychometric Assessment and Asian Personality and Performance for his PhD6. We use only high quality training venues that facilitate the best of learning and leave delegates with nothing to worry about!7. We provide all Level B delegates with questionnaire materials that are worth in excess of SG$1200/HK$6000 at retail!8. We offer an array of additional offers and support materials which include a
Fees for Late Level B Follow-Up Work
If you do not meet the deadline for your Level B follow-up work, you may pay a fee to extend the deadline ONCE.  The person who marks your work would already have set aside 1-2 days to mark the work of your course batch.  The days set aside are typically the day of the deadline plus the next day.  Hence if you miss this, the marker needs to reorganise his schedule and take more time out to mark your late work.  That's why there is an additional fee.  The fee for late submission of your portfolio of work is SG$350/HK$1800.  You will need to insert a cheque for this amount with your late submission.  Note that the fee entitles you to a ONE MONTH extension.  Your work will become due on the same day that your course ended, but now two months after the course.  So, if your course finished on 3 October, your late submission will become due on 3 December at 12 noon.  If you subsequently fail to meet this deadline, we will usually ask you to repeat the course (at the current fee minus 30%).  This is because we need to be sure that when we sign you off as competent (for life!), you are currently competent.  If your work

Live online training sessions for BPS Level A and B (Singapore and Hong Kong)
In another first for the company, PsyAsia International is pleased to offer Live online training and meeting sessions for the BPS Level A and B Training (Psychometric Assessment at Work Course). The sessions are entirely optional. New course delegates will be invited to "virtual reception" events where they can meet (virtually) other delegates in their intake along with the facilitator and they can ask any questions about the course they wish.  These sessions are also extended to live training classrooms from time-to-time. The earlier a delegate registers for the face-to-face training, the more events they can attend!  Come and enjoy PsyAsia's innovative, blended training in Psychometric Assessment.  PsyAsia International - Asia's Leader in Psychometric Training.
 Pre-course Work for Levels A & B
Delegates on our psychometric assessment at work course must complete the pre-course work prior to attending the course.  If you do not complete the compulsory pre-course work, you will not be admitted to the course and you will lose your payment!  Whilst pre-course work is now lighter than it was in the past, it is essential that you set aside time before the course to complete it.  We will send it to you 7-10 days before your course.  We do this so that we send it to all delegates in one go (and therefore keep course administrative fees low!) and more importantly, because if we send it too far in advance, for those that do read it immediately, they will forget the content before the course commences!Pre-course work will not be sent until your payment for the course has been cleared, so please ensure that you pay early in order to receive your pre-course work on time!Assuming you have paid, but do not receive your pre-course work 7 days before your course, please contact our training people immediately.  Please do not contact them before
What happens if I fail the Psychometric Assessment at Work Course?
Generally, delegates do not fail! This is a competency-based course. PsyAsia's assessors need to see evidence of your competence in and understanding of Psychometric testing and related concepts. If you complete the pre-course work, read the course manual, do the homework and apply yourself fully during the course, the chances are, that at worst, we will simply ask you to complete some extra work to provide evidence of competence in areas that may be lacking. Our doctoral-level facilitator is highly experienced and will do everything he can to help you through the course provided you too are committed.  PsyAsia offers additional resources outside of the classroom to help you learn.  This includes an online learning center, a delegate forum and live online group meetings. We are dedicated to your success, so as long as you are too, you will not fail!NB: Please do not make any outside commitments during the course. This will ensure that you have ample time to reflect upon your learning and do the required homework and preparatory work.
What is British Psychological Society (BPS) Level A?
The British Psychological Society has established the BPS Level A qualification to cover the competent use of ability and aptitude tests in occupational settings.  PsyAsia International offers training from a resident Doctor of Psychology with expertise in psychometric assessment in Asia.  Our BPS Level A training runs in Singapore and Hong Kong on a public basis and in other parts of Asia as an in-house course. PsyAsia was the first company in Singapore and Hong Kong to offer regular public training leading to the BPS Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing and we are the only company to offer training from a resident facilitator, thus combining world-class training with a knowledge of local laws, customs and test use.
What is British Psychological Society (BPS) Level B?
BPS Level B draws on the BPS Level A component (and thus may only be studied following completion of Level A) and covers the competent use of personality measures in occupational settings. There are currently three subcategories to the Level B, Intermediate, Plus and Full. The Intermediate Level B has been formulated principally, but not exclusively, for users of one or more substantive personality instruments, where assessment is not their primary role function. The Level B Plus is a first step towards the Full Level B Qualification wherein the candidate demonstrates competence in the use of a personality measure that is substantially different from that used for the Intermediate qualification. The Full Level B is aimed primarily at Chartered/Registered/Licensed Psychologists and other professionals who require a broader, more general level of competence in applying assessment techniques in a wide range of situations. PsyAsia's standard course provides, and the majority of alternative training providers offer, training and assessment to the Level B Intermediate qualification. For the small number of people who may wish to qualify at Level B Plus, PsyAsia can also arrange this.  However given that most delegates over the years ha
What is the maximum number of people on each course?
PsyAsia limits the number of places on each course to 10-12. We don't believe in jamming as many people as possible into our courses in order to maximize our profits!  Our goal is to maximize your learning experience and time spent with our professionally registered organizational psychologists.  It is of course advisable to reserve your place early to avoid disappointment.  The sooner you register, the sooner you can start learning as we give you immediate access to our online learning center!Note: Some providers of the BPS Level A and B training take up to 20 people on a course. Our experience shows that 12 is a more conducive maximum for intensive training such as this. We ensure that delegates go away with no questions unanswered and really feel valued on the course!
What is the registration deadline for the Psychometric Assessment at Work Course?
Registration deadlines for the Psychometric Assessment at Work Course are 3 weeks prior to the course if you are registering for Level A and 4 weeks prior to the course for Level B.  There is some minimal pre-course work for this course.  Pre-course work is not released until payment is received, so please ensure that you pay promptly upon receipt of your invoice and that you register in good time to allow you sufficient time to do the pre-course work!  That said, many of our courses fill 8 weeks prior to going ahead and so we would advise firm delegates to register as soon as they can.

Why is PsyAsia's Psychometric Assessment at Work Course cheaper than other reputible providers?
PsyAsia has many years of experience in delivering this course. The experience has enabled us to be aware of subject areas that take longer for delegates to comprehend. We devote time as necessary to each area of the BPS syllabus. Some of the syllabus is not so amenable to workshop presentation and is able to be easily learned by self-study prior to or during the course. PsyAsia provides delegates with pre-course work and evening and weekend homework during the course. The end result is an intensive course that covers every aspect of the BPS syllabus, delivered professionally and competently by psychologist trainers dedicated to your success over a period of 6 days. The course is shorter in length than the majority of alternative providers and this is reflected in the fee we charge. Furthermore, most of PsyAsia's course delegates go on to become loyal PsyAsia clients, purchasing our psychometric assessments and other solutions. PsyAsia International values this potential relationship and has taken the longer-term into account when pricing the course.
Why is there follow-up work for the Psychometric Assessment at Work Course?
Follow-up work for Level B must be submitted by delegates within 1 month of the end of the course. During the intervening one month period, delegates use their learned skills to administer, score, interpret and provide feedback on a number of personality tests. Our delegates consider this final stage to be an invaluable experience in their development of competence.Other courses drag out this final stage to as long as 3 months and then take another 2-3 months to mark your work (yes we have proof of this!).  This means it takes more than 4-5 months to get your BPS Level B certificate!  PsyAsia sets the deadline at one month which is ample time to complete the work and then we promise to get it marked within 10 days of your deadline (usually within 3 days!) and this in turn ensures that you can apply for your Level B certificate usually within 5 weeks from the start of your course.
Why the need for the Psychometric Assessment at Work Course?
Psychometric Tests are useful tools in today's workplace. Not only do they provide a scientific basis for selection and development of employees, they also save incredible time and cost given their ability to assess candidates rapidly and objectively. However, these benefits disappear if the tools are not used properly. It's important for all users of a test to understand the basic principles of psychometric assessment generally, in addition to how the test works, how to interpret it, report and make decisions based upon the test. Incompetent use of tests not only wastes the money of the buying organisation, but can also result in motivational problems in your current employees, a lack of goodwill in selection scenarios and thus a tarnished image for your company, and in some parts of the world, incompetent use of tests is illegal!  Attending our course will ensure that you do not fall foul of any of the above and will provide you with confidence in choosing and using the right tests.Note if you are put off by the length of the course or its intensive nature, we also offer shorter training courses of 2 days for each test we sell. In addition, we offer online live training for tests.  Please contact us for more details.
