Most reputable psychometric test providers will not provide people with free or even paid-for trials of psychometric tests. In the past, some people thought that having access to tests prior to an assessment session would assist in them 'beating the system'. These days, with a number of validity scales within psychometric tests, it really is not possible to 'beat the system'. However, even if it was, the majority of job applicants would maybe prefer not to. The rationale behind testing is that the right person for the job is selected for the position. Your psychometric test results should be considered alongside all other forms of evidence that the employer has about you. Ultimately, you would not wish to be selected incorrectly for a job for which you do not possess the right knowledge or skills or attitude. This will only result in unhappiness and stress for yourself, your employer and maybe even your family! Of course, people also like to have access to tests so that they feel more comfortable during the actual testing session. If this is the case, please see our candidate page. Our advice to you is to relax, have a good sleep and breakfast before your assessment and see it as a learning experience. We are often asked by potential new clients if they may have a trial of a particular test to assist them in the decision as to whether or not to adopt or purchase it for use in their organisations. We may from time-to-time offer a single trial of a test to top-level decision-makers in multi-national organisations. We limit the offer of trials because decisions to purchase psychometric tests should not be on the basis of the impression gained from taking the test! We train all of our psychometric assessment at work course delegates (and other reputable training providers do likewise) that they must critically assess reliability and most importantly, construct and criterion-related validity of tests when evaluating them for purchase. This information is to be found in the publisher's test manuals. We usually would not work with people who have not been trained to this standard. However, there are times when the untrained client wishes to use our own psychologists for the assessment. In these cases, we need to ask the client to trust our professional ethics and experience in choosing the most suitable test for a given situation.
We do offer both numerical and verbal reasoning tests in online and hard-copy formats. However, our policy is to adequately prepare our candidates prior to testing in a way which is both fair to candidates and fair to our clients. Giving students aptitude test training wherein they are exposed to tests is not an ethical use and would not confirm to best practice. Our HR clients use tests to help them understand a job applicant's potential. Programmes which give exposure to tests will in turn allow students to produce better results due to a practice effect - this has nothing to do with their potential! Whilst some less ethical test suppliers will allow you to do this, they are not considering the best interests of their HR clients who purchase the tests. We would suggest running sessions where students are informed about what aptitude tests are, why they are used and how to prepare by way of a good night's sleep etc. rather than exposing them to actual tests. The use of aptitude tests as part of a career exploration package is a different matter and would be acceptable.
Choose real Psychological Consultancies such as PsyAsia International for Psychometric Tests and Assessment Centre Exercises rather than companies jumping on the bandwagon of selling assessments but without the appropriate expertise to back up their offerings. In Singapore, Hong Kong and across Asia we notice an increasing stream of companies who are joining the 'bandwagon' of selling psychometric assessment tools. They see these tools as another commodity to be sold and promise all kinds of gains. Some of them have no idea about what lies behind a psychometric test. Some of them have been on short training courses and see themselves as experts and even have a stab at designing their own tests on that basis!! We know because we have seen these people in action!! However, they have not have the more than 6 years of training in psychology that our psychologists have had. They were not

No, PsyAsia does not offer DiSC. Our tests are highly reliable, internationally validated tests respected by the world's top psychometricians and psychologists. Regarding DiSC:The Buros Institute of Mental Measurements (BIMM) publishes the MMY or Mental Measurements Yearbook. The BIMM is highly regarded in the testing and measurement field as a trustworthy source of information and evaluation of mental/psychological tests. It has worked for more than 65 years to advance the field of these measurements. The Sixteenth Mental Measurements Yearbook (MMY), reports that the DiSC is an "update of the Personal Profile System (PPS)," which had been evaluated in The Tenth MMY. The reviewers’ evaluation of the PPS ends by saying: "The clear lack of data to support this instrument should preclude its use" (bold added). Not surprisingly, the reviewers’ conclusion about the DiSC, which appears in The Sixteenth Mental Measurements Yearbook, says: "The use of the DiSC is not recommended" (bold added).
Whilst the majority of our multi-national clients prefer English-language tests, PsyAsia does offer traditional and simplified Chinese versions of the Apollo Profile and the Identity Self-Perception Questionnaire. The Saville Consulting Wave is also available in Simplified Chinese.

If you are a psychologist who is able to provide evidence of specific training and accreditation in psychometric assessment to the standards required by PsyAsia International (which conform to international best practice standards), then yes. If not, we will require you to undertake an appropriate course of psychometric training. Having registration as a psychologist does not of course imply competence in the use of psychometric tools. We must see such competence evidenced before we are able to sell our tests to anybody. Thank you for your understanding.

You may use Identity without further training provided you purchase the technical manual and undertake to read it and the free user guide completely before using the test. PsyAsia International does not supply sample questions. This is because making a decision about whether or not to use a test on the basis of its questions lacks the scientific rigor that we aspire to in psychometric assessment.Whilst it may provide you with some evidence of the lowest form of validity (face validity), the decision you make is subjective.Furthermore, it does not inform you as to whether the concepts that the test claims to assess are indeed reliably assessed by the test (reliability and construct validity). Also, looking at sample questions does not provide you with evidence to suggest a test may predict a criterion at work, such as performance (criterion-related validity). For these reasons, sample questions are not provided by PsyAsia (or most reputable test providers), but we are happy to refer clients to our test manuals so that you may consult them for details about reliability and validity. We will also be happy to answer any technical questions that you

There are a lot of "cowboys" in the assessment and testing market. People who do not have the appropriate skills, knowledge and competence to understand the core of human beings but who do have the funding and ability to produce glossy, attractive brochures and other marketing collateral. Please read the following when considering us and our competitors. Be cautious when choosing tests that have not been developed based on well researched and renowned models, subject to psychologist peer review and scrutiny or evaluated for technical properties (reliability and validity chiefly) locally. Also, be careful when buying tests or training from those who are not professionally registered as organisational psychologists. Would you consider going to the porter in the hosptal for heart surgery? No, you would go to the cardiac surgeon. Would you consider asking clerical staff for legal advice? No, you would contact a lawyer. When considering psychometric tests, we suggest you therefore consult a registered organizational psychologist with all of the attributes below rather than a generalist who claims to have all the answers! Why Choose PsyAsia for Psychometric Tests in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, UK, Australia?

It's difficult to change from a psychometric test that you have perhaps been using for many years to a new personality assessment that you may have heard relatively little about. We know because we underwent the same process. When in doubt, sometimes busy humans think it's best to leave things as they are! However, upon spending just a few minutes invesigating what really gives in the range of Saville Wave assessments, we decided that it was a "no brainer" as they say in Australia! It makes sense really...please read on!The original author of the OPQ is Professor Peter Saville. Professor Saville was in fact the 'S' of SHL ('H' standing for Holdsworth and 'L' for Limited). He is responsible for the new Saville Wave, developed by him and his team at Saville Consulting. He has remarked in relation to the older OPQ that it was a great test in its day. Nowadays however, we need newer, more modern and innovative tests that are relevant to a new and constantly evolving workplace. Looking at both the design of the Saville Wave and the content of the questions, it's immediately noticable that the questionnaire better reflects today's workplace. The O
