Saville Consulting WaveŽ Training - Wave Module
Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Australia
  Saville Wave

The Saville Consulting Wave Module Training is a 2-day workshop for clients who do not currently hold the BPS Level B Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing or a certification in a substantive personality assessment. After the course delegates will be qualified to use all aspects of the Saville Consulting Wave Test. However, additional training will be required should delegates wish to use Saville Consulting Aptitude Tests (please see BPS Level A Training).

For clients who already hold a qualification in a substantive personality assessment such as OPQ32, 16PF, 15FQ+ or HPI (not MBTI, DiSC, Harrison Assessments etc.), you may attend a one-day Saville Consulting Wave Conversion Course rather than this two-day course.

Facilitator of the Saville Wave Workshop

Asian courses are usually facilitated by Dr. Graham Tyler. Graham is a fully registered organizational psychologist and executive director of PsyAsia International. His PhD thesis concentrated on psychometric assessment with particular emphasis on the validity of international and local models of personality in Asia. Previously an MBA lecturer for the UK’s University of Leicester Dubai Campus and more recently a visiting lecturer for a Hong Kong university (teaching MSc HRM), Graham spends most of his time involved in training and consultancy in organizational psychology commuting between Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Australia. Graham's training and consultancy work in job analysis, selection and development systems, performance appraisal, assessment centres and generally maximising performance at work has seen him work with organisations such as Cathay Pacific, Citibank, BP, Guinness, Hewitt Consulting and FedEx in addition to government organisations such as the Hong Kong Institute for Vocational Education, the Singapore Ministry of Defense and the Singapore Civil Service College. He is a full member of the Australian and British Psychological Societies and his research with psychometric tools has been recognised by the British Psychological Society with their prestigious prize for Scientific Contribution to Organizational Psychology. Graham is also an Associate Fellow of the Hong Kong Psychological Society and a member of the Hong Kong Institute for HRM. He continues to be interested in assessment and selection research and his research has been published in international peer-reviewed and professional journals whilst he is a reviewer for the Journal of Personality & Individual Differences as well as for the annual SIOP (Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology) conference in the USA. In recognition of voluntary contributions to society and the less fortunate, Graham has been awarded honorary life membership of the British Red Cross Society and was nominated for the Wesley Hospital "Ideals in Action" award.

Australia and New Zealand courses are usually facilitated by Scott Ruhfus, Managing Director of Saville Consulting Asia Pacific. Scott is a registered organisational psychologist with more than 25 years experience in human resources, consulting and management. Until 2002, he was President, Asia Pacific, of SHL, having joined the fledgling Australian office in 1988. Early on, he helped to introduce modern concepts in testing to the Australian and other regional markets, and later, was involved in product development and strategy. He has headed the Australian HR function of 3 multinationals, and was a military psychologist before that. Scott has a degree in psychology from Sydney University. He has enjoyed a close link to the profession, speaking at many seminars on advances in testing and assessment, taking an active interest in the postgraduate training of business psychologists, and serving on a number of professional committees. He is a past Chair of the Australian Psychological Society's College of Organisational Psychologists in Sydney. Scott's testing expertise is in the development of decision support systems and reporting formats which address the practical need to identify, develop and retain talent, and to do it better than the competition. He has led projects as diverse as pilot selection for airlines and entry level screening for retail banks. With his management experience and behavioural background he now also coaches and counsels senior executives in a number of public and private companies as well as the professional services sector.

"A highly practical and enjoyable approach to the application of an extremely useful tool for selection and development - well worth the investment, highly recommended."

Neville Pearsall

We also asked our delegates what they liked best about the training...here are some sample responses:

A technically sound model presented by a extremely competent professional with a solid approach to practical application.

The practical exercises.

The practice sessions helped us understand the feedback session better. The immediate feedback we received helped even more.
